Thank You, Friends

wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you/i'm so grateful for all the things you help me do...

this is from the first of two harmonic convergences I made at/on Sasquatch. I sang on "16 Milit'ry Wives" with the Decemberists and "Crooked Teeth" with Death Cab, just like on the records.

It was real nice.

Hey, the Decemberists. Nice John Moen used to be my nephew through marriage. Old Aunty Tina and her first husband, Uncle Tom*.

As a fan and a attendee to the Sasquatch that was, I have to say that it was a great surprise to see you hop onstage for those numbers. My friend, who has is a HUGE fan, nearly shot a mouthful of Diet Coke thru his nose when they announced you during the Decemberists. Which would have been unfortunate for the gal sitting in front of us.

You're right, it was real nice.

I'll have you know, when my cohort and I (while standing in the front row) looked to the wings of the stage, all we could see of one spectator was a mass of wild, curly hair: you. We automatically knew that something amazing would happen; we - in the simplest of terms - went batshit crazy.

You were a highlight of Sasquatch.

Nice.
